He who takes refuge in the Most High will rest in the protection of the Almighty. I say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” He delivers you from the snare of the fowler and from the pestilence that destroys. He covers you with his feathers, and you are safe under his wings; his faithfulness protects you like a great shield. So you will not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrows that fly by day, nor of the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor of the deadly blow that strikes at noon. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will see with your eyes the retribution of the wicked. For you are my refuge, O LORD. If you make the Most High your refuge, no evil will befall you, no calamity will come near your dwelling; for he will give his angels charge over you to protect you on your paths. They will bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the viper, and trample the young lion and the serpent. Yes, him who is joined to me, I will deliver, and he who maintains a relationship with me I will protect.
